Connecting in ChatGPT MCP

In ChatGPT MCP / Plugin settings, enter the MCP Server URL:

  • ChatGPT will automatically discover OAuth endpoints via RFC 9728 & RFC 8414.
  • Users will be prompted to authenticate with their personal Trakt account.
  • Each user gets an isolated, encrypted session.

Step 1 Trakt Apps

Create Trakt API App

Ensure your Trakt application has the redirect URIs configured:

  • Redirect URIs:
    https://chat.openai.com/aip/g-trakt/oauth/callback
    https://traktgpt.pcro.eu/oauth/trakt/callback
  • Permissions: Check /public
Step 2 GPT Editor

Create Custom GPT

Go to ChatGPT → Create a GPT → Configure → Create new action:

  • Click Import from URL
  • Paste: https://traktgpt.pcro.eu/openapi.json
  • Set Privacy Policy: https://traktgpt.pcro.eu/privacy
Step 3 Action Auth

Set OAuth in ChatGPT

Under Action Authentication, select OAuth:

  • Client ID: Your Trakt Client ID
  • Client Secret: (Leave blank / PKCE)
  • Authorization URL: https://traktgpt.pcro.eu/oauth/authorize
  • Token URL: https://traktgpt.pcro.eu/oauth/token
